Michael Peters Senior Client Executive in PLRisks’s Cannabis Division. Michael was instrumental in helping to develop the company’s cannabis division 3 years ago and in brining expertise to this newly formed division. In his capacity, he helped secure market appointments and expand the company’s retail producer network, enabling the company to capitalize on its current retail network, carrier relationships and product portfolio.

Michael began his insurance career in 2012 as a boots-on-the-ground professional liability agent before ascending to roles with increasing complexity, breadth, and responsibility. He is tenacious about breaking into new insurance markets, developing programs/insurance products, and scaling agency distribution networks. He has developed insurance programs and brokered property and casualty insurance products in multiple lines of business, including: Commercial Property, Commercial Casualty, Commercial Auto, Products Liability, Professional Liability and Management Liability, Workers’ Compensation, Inland Marine and more.

Michael earned his CPCU designation in 2016 and his RPLU designation in 2014 and is licensed for both P&C and E&S. Prior to joining PLRisk in 2020 and helping to their wholesale cannabis insurance division Michael owned his own insurance retail insurance agency specializing in Cannabis related insurance risks which made it a perfect fit for Michael to join PLRisk Prior to that, Michael was a VP, Broker for RPS, and a VP of Business Development for MedPro Group. Michael is a graduate of Indiana University, Fort Wayne having earned his Major in Political Science and Minor in History.
